Pray also for me.
—Ephesians 6:19
“More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of,” wrote Tennyson
Paul opened Ephesians telling his readers that he was praying for them (1:16), and closed it asking them to pray for him (6:19).
Does it come as a shock that a person of Paul’s spiritual maturity felt a need for the prayers of those less seasoned?
He was asking these brothers and sisters to join him in his ministry; to be as much a part of it as he was; to see it as much theirs as his.
Do you feel unimportant? Feel that you have little to offer?
Rethink those feelings. Your prayers—yes, yours—may be a fundamental ingredient in the successful ministry of another.
There are no unimportant people.
