You are a letter from Christ … written not
with ink but with the Spirit of the living God.
—2 Corinthians 3:3
Everybody thinks about writing a book, but few ever do.
You may never get around to putting your life between the covers of a book for readers to leaf through; but you are read nevertheless. The old saw, “Her life is an open book,” is an uncomfortable truth. Like it or not, you are on display.
The apostle Paul wrote a lot of books, but the manuscripts he valued most were the lives of his converts: “You are a letter from Christ.”
A life well lived is a powerful letter.
A craftsman is judged by what he builds, an artist by what she paints, a writer by what he writes.
And all of us by how we live.
Few read the Bible; many read the Christian.
