Who is he that condemns?
—Romans 8:34
The first and last verses of Romans 8 bracket the chapter with two breath-taking promises: 1) there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ; 2) nothing can separate us from the love of God.
No condemnation! No separation!
The chapter peppers its reader with questions:
“If God is for us, who can be against us?”
“Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen?”
“Who is he that condemns?”
Opposition? Count on it. But nothing can defeat you because of four bulletproof facts nested in verse 34:
Christ died;
Christ was raised;
Christ is at the right hand of God;
Christ is interceding for you.
He died. He lives. He intercedes. You win.
