He was delivered over to death for our sins
and was raised to life for our justification.
—Romans 4:25
The resurrection of Jesus was a “But God” moment.
Peter on Pentecost: you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross. But God raised him from the dead (Acts 2:23-24).
Peter at Solomon’s Colonnade: You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead (Acts 3:15).
Peter at the house of Cornelius: They killed him by hanging him on a tree, but God raised him from the dead (Acts 10:39-40).
Paul in the synagogue in Pisidian Antioch: they took him down from the tree and laid him in a tomb. But God raised him from the dead (Acts 13:29-30).
When things look dismal
watch for a “But God” moment.
