You are worth more than many sparrows.
—Luke 12:7
If you’ve been around a spell you know that life isn’t an unbroken string of fair weather. It has its seasons of storm and havoc. That’s when you must remember that when God seems distant, he isn’t. His concern is constant.
Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God … you are worth more than many sparrows (Lk. 12:6-7).
Ranked by price sparrows aren’t worth much, but God has every one of them on his radar. You are worth more than a truckload of sparrows; there isn’t a chance that God has forgotten you, or ever will.
I sing because I’m happy,
I sing because I’m free,
For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.

God is present in both pleasure and pain.
