Then he climbed into the boat
with them, and the wind died down.
—Mark 6:51
He had agreed to join them, but evening came and “Jesus had not yet come to them” (Jno. 6:17).
Their boat was being tossed like a toy by vicious wind and wave. Where was he? Was he unaware of the storm? Unconcerned about them?
No. From his perch on a nearby mountain he was watching as they fought for their lives, and when the time was right he came to them. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Then he climbed into the boat with them, and the wind died down.”
When your night is dark, he is watching.
When your sea is rough, he is watching.
When you are afraid, he is watching.
When the time is right he will climb into your boat, and the storm will stop.
Jesus knows when the time
is right. That is when he comes.
