Critics

The way of fools seems right to them.
              —Proverbs 12:15

He was the Bible class nightmare. He interrupted, challenged, and pontificated. He knew everything about everything. A lady who’d had it up to here with his disruptions finally said to him, “I wish I was as certain about anything as you are about everything.”

There are critics of the Bible who have never read it.

There are critics of every book they read, although they’ve never written one.

There are critics of sermons, although they’ve never preached one.

There are critics of pies, although they’ve never baked one.

I have books on my shelves by respected scholars containing some subject matter that’s over my head. That’s not because the authors went too deep but because my comprehension is too shallow.

Evaluate self before assuming the role of critic.
