Whatever a man sows,
that he will also reap.
—Galatians 6:7
At Aristotle’s bidding, Alexander the Great took scientists with him on his Hellenistic crusade. They were to collect flora and fauna for Aristotle to analyze.
“Why, if you plant an acorn in the ground, doesn’t it produce an elephant?” asked Aristotle. “Why do I expect to see an oak tree if I plant an acorn?”
Aristotle theorized that every seed contains an element of intelligence. If you plant apple seeds, you won’t get grapes; you’ll get apples.
Paul testifies to this truth, saying, “Whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.” One of the disastrous deceptions we face is thinking we can sow one thing and get something else.
Don’t be deceived. What you sow, you will reap.
Seeds can’t be fooled.
