Freedom from Frustration (Romans 8:18–30)
In all things God works for the good
of those who love him.
—Romans 8:28
Time exacts a price in trials and troubles. But “our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed” (v. 18). Our present troubles are “light and momentary,” but the glory to come is “eternal” and “far outweighs them all” (2 Cor 4:17).
In the present time we have the Holy Spirit’s help in our weakness. We don’t know what we should pray for, nor how to pray as we should, but the Spirit, who knows what we don’t and how to express what we can’t, steps in and intercedes for us, flawlessly interpreting our flawed words vv. 26–27).
And God is working for us: “In all things God works for the good of those who love him” (v. 28).
God is active on your behalf 24/7.
