Thanksgiving. My favorite holiday. A day to put gripes and grumbles on the back burner, remember past and present blessings, and be grateful. A day to look around, look within, look up, and say, “Thank you, Lord.”
Look within. Thank you, Lord:
for eyes to see and ears to hear
for hands to work and feet to walk
for a mind to think and a heart to feel
Look around. Thank you, Lord:
for the nation in which we live
for the church in which we are nourished
for friends who care
for food, clothes, and shelter
Look up. Thank you, Lord:
for your Word that directs us
for your love that sustains us
for your grace that embraces us
for your forgiveness that justifies us
for your gift of Jesus who saves us
