Be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord.
—Psalm 27:14
Every morning, I join my prayers to those of some acquaintances who are living through difficult days. Our prayers sometimes seem to go unanswered for reasons unknown to me or them.
“I cry out to you, O God, but you do not answer,” lamented Job (Jb 30:20).
The interval between prayer and its answer sometimes seems long. Why won’t he answer? Why won’t he act?
He will when the time is right. Our vision of life is limited to the present. God sees it all the way to the end, and beyond. He knows the right answer and the right time for delivery.
As difficult as it is, try to trust God to give the right answer at the right time.
Trusting God in the dark times
is the greatest level of faith.
