Your will be done.
—Matthew 6:10
The hardest prayer to pray—and mean—is, “Your will be done.” More often than not we pray for our will to be done; that is, we pray for what we want, and ask God to make it happen.
It’s not easy to want his will to be done, unless it corresponds with what you want to be done. But if you can reach the level in your prayer life of truly desiring his will, you have the promise of answered prayer: “If we ask anything according to his will he hears us” (1 Jno. 5:14).
When you can pray, and really mean, “your will be done,” you will be okay with whatever answer he gives, because you will be certain that he will give what is best.
Learn to want what he wants.
