How are you handling your tomorrows today? We all know someone whose worry about their tomorrows wrecks their today with anxiety. In fact, you may know that person very well—for that person may be you.
Repeatedly rehearsing a “What if?” future problem traps you into experiencing it numerous times instead of encountering it only when it occurs.
If your mental profile of the future is dominated by “What if?” “Uh-oh!” and “Oh dear!” you’re not going to have much gas left in the tank to deal with the problem when—or if—it shows up.
An English proverb advises: “Do not climb the hill until you get to it.”
