Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord.
—Proverbs 19:17
Wendy keeps bottled water and peanut butter crackers in her car to give to down-and-outers who stroll the medians at major intersections holding up cardboard signs: Hungry; Laid Off; Will Work for Food.
Wendy isn’t comfortable shelling out cash to strangers, fearful of feeding an addiction. But neither is she comfortable turning a cold shoulder to God’s children who are in need.
So she rolls down the window of her Chevy, offers a bottle of water, a package of crackers, a smile, and a “God bless you.”
God doesn’t ask many of us to do big things because most of us aren’t capable of that. But he asks all of us to do little things because all of us are capable of that.
If you’re too big to do little things
you’re too little to do big things.
