I will trust, and will not be afraid;
for the Lord God is my strength and my song.
—Isaiah 12:2
To Abram, God said, “Do not be afraid . . . I am your shield” (Gn 15:1).
To Joshua, God said, “Do not be afraid, [I] will be with you wherever you go” (Jo 1:9).
To Isaiah, God said, tell my people, “Do not be afraid, for I am with you” (Is 41:10).
To his disciples, Jesus said, “Do not let your hearts be trouble and do not be afraid” (Jn 14:27).
God is as powerful and concerned about you today as he was about those in the four sentences above.
Fear sucks the oxygen out of faith. Drink a big dose of those verses and put some zip in your faith. Say it with me: “In God I trust; I will not be afraid” (Ps 56:4).
Don’t let your fear outgrow your faith.
