I know you by name and you
have found favor with me.
—Exodus 33:12
“Noah found favor in the sight of the Lord” (Gn 6:8). Noah was a farmer, not a carpenter. Building a boat chewed up decades of his life. Saying “Yes” to God’s plan meant saying “No” to his own.
God told Moses, “You have found favor with me” (Ex 33:12). Moses spent the next forty years herding impossible-to-please whiners instead of sheep. Saying “Yes” to God’s plan meant saying “No” to his own.
Angel Gabriel told Mary, “You have found favor with God” (Lk 1:30). “Let it be to me as you have said,” Mary responded. Saying “Yes” to God’s plan meant saying “No” to her own.
Do whatever it takes to get your name on that “Found Favor” list—even if saying “Yes” to God’s plan means saying “No” to your own.
Let God single you out for his favor.
