[We were created] to do good works,
which God prepared in advance for us to do.
—Ephesians 2:10
Make the psalmist’s prayer your own: “Teach [me] to number [my] days and recognize how few they are; help [me] to spend them as [I] should” (Ps 90:12).
Are you spending your days as you should, using the gift God has given you?
“I’m not a gifted person,” you say. Yes, you are. “Christ has given each of us special abilities—whatever he wants us to have out of his rich storehouse of gifts” (Eph 4:7).
God knew what he wanted done, when he wanted it done, where he wanted it done, and who he wanted to do it. He “prepared in advance”—before you arrived on the scene—a specific work and wrote your name beside it. Since it is specifically your work, if you don’t do it, it won’t be done.
You make a difference—or not.
