Naked a man comes from his mother’s womb,
and as he comes, so he departs.
—Ecclesiastes 5:15
There are only two things you can worry about: the things you control, and the things you don’t.
It’s senseless to worry about the things you control, because if you control them you can change them. It’s equally foolish to worry about the things you don’t control, because if you don’t control them there is nothing you can do to change them.
We spend a top-heavy slice of life worrying about money. Those who are short of it worry about not having it. And those who have a substantial stash worry that they will lose it.
That is exactly what’s going to happen you know—you’re going to lose it: “… we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it” (1 Tim. 6:7).
Everybody checks out with the same amount.
