In all things God works for the
good of those who love him.
—Romans 8:28
Paul didn’t say, “We know that in some things or in most things—but in all things, God works for the good of those who love him.”
The promise covers everything in your life—from the smallest detail to the most momentous.
Note the present tense: “God works.” It isn’t God worked or will work. It is a constant process. He is orchestrating every minute of every day of your life.
You may not presently see how all the pieces fit together, but someday you will. As Jesus once said to Peter: “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand” (Jn 13:7).
It isn’t in five hundred of a thousand events in your life that God is working for your good but in nine hundred and ninety-nine, plus one.
God is working in your life right now—
in ways you may not understand.
