I praise you because of the
wonderful way you created me.
—Psalm 139:14
On the table is a bowl. In it are ten slips of paper, numbered from 1 to 10.
If you reach in and draw one slip, the chance of drawing number 1 on the first try is 1 in 10.
The chance of drawing 1 and 2 in succession is 1 in 100; of drawing 1, 2, and 3 in succession is 1 in 1000.
The possibility of drawing all 10 in succession is 1 in 10 billion. At one second per draw, this would take 318 years.
What are the odds that you accidentally came together in your present form? Far less likely than the numbers above. Consider that your brain controls over 100 billion nerve cells and generates more electrical impulses each day than all the world’s telephones combined.
God thought of you. Then made you—
the only you in the world.
