In the morning, O Lord,
you hear my voice.
—Psalm 5:3
Paul got into a terrible mess in Ephesus:
“We were really crushed and overwhelmed, and feared we would never live through it. We felt we were doomed to die and saw how powerless we were to help ourselves; but that was good, for then we put everything into the hands of God . . . and he did help us” (2 Cor 1:8–10).
You know the maxim: “When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on!”
When doom seemed certain, Paul put everything in the hands of God and hung on for dear life: “and he did help us.”
He will do the same for you: “In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation” (Ps 5:3).
