I hear a mighty rainstorm coming.
—1 Kings 18:41
There hadn’t been a drop of rain in three years, and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. But Elijah said, “I hear a mighty rainstorm coming.” God said he would send rain and Elijah believed him.
Climbing to the top of Mount Carmel, he began to pray. “Go and look toward the sea,” he said to his servant. His servant returned and said, “There is nothing there.” “Go look again.” “There’s nothing there.” Six times: “There’s nothing there.”
“Go look again.” On the seventh time, he saw a small cloud. Then, “the sky grew black with clouds, the wind rose, and torrential rain fell.”
Faith empowers you to hear and see during life’s droughts. If you don’t hear a rainstorm or see a cloud right away, keep looking, keep believing, keep praying.
When God says it,
you can take it to the bank.
