Even to your old age . . .
I am he who will sustain you.
—Isaiah 46:4
C.S. Lewis resisted conversion until midway in his life, yet became the greatest apologist of his generation, writing over thirty books defending Christianity—all of which remain in print fifty-nine years after his death. He said, “You are never too old to set a new goal or dream a new dream.”
God has a place and priesthood for every age.
To Timothy, Paul said, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young” (1 Tm 4:12).
And at the other end of the age chart, this word of God: “Even to your old age and gray hairs . . . I am he who will sustain you” (Is 46:4). “They will still bear fruit in old age” (Ps 92:14).
There are limitations imposed by advanced years, but God has not decreed a mandatory retirement age.
You’re only old once.
Make the most of it.
