Those who win the victory will receive this.
—Revelation 21:7
John Sehon was a dyed-in-the-wool University of Texas football fan. After he moved out of state, his brother-in-law recorded the games for him.
When the Longhorns won the national championship in 2006, a friend emailed John a congratulatory note about his team’s win—before he had a chance to watch the game. Bummer.
But when he watched the nail-biter—Texas scored the win with nineteen seconds left on the clock—John said he was relieved to know in advance that his team had won.
We don’t know what’s going to happen next year, next week, or tomorrow.
But we do know the final score: “[God] will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death, sadness, crying, or pain” (Rv 21:4).
When all is said and done, we win!
