Blessed are they who maintain justice,
who constantly do what is right.
—Psalm 106:3
“Do not pervert justice … judge your neighbor fairly” (Lev. 19:15).
Suspicion is not a just and fair basis for judgment.
Accusation is not a just and fair basis for judgment.
Gossip is not a just and fair basis for judgment.
Dislike is not a just and fair basis for judgment.
Contrary viewpoint is not a just and fair basis for judgment.
You can’t judge justly and fairly unless you: 1) know everything about the person you are judging, and 2) know all the facts about why she does what she does. And those are two things you can never know.
So the only way to judge justly and fairly is to refuse to judge at all.
Your judgment won’t be right
if your facts are wrong.
