Call upon me in the day
of trouble; I will deliver you.
—Psalm 50:15
The promise of presence. When you feel alone, friendless, and forsaken, you’re not. You may be isolated by geography, circumstance, or sin—but he is near. He invites you to call upon him, and promises deliverance from your solitude and your sin.
The promise of certainty. Jesus came to seek and to save what was lost (Luke 19:10). He didn’t come to try to do it, he came to do it.
The promise of singularity. He is the one and only deliverer. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). It is this Deliverer, or no deliverer; this Savior, or no savior.
God’s strength is available
to those who are aware of their weakness.
