Come to me, all you who
are weary and burdened.
—Matthew 11:28
What are your chances of being hired by Google or accepted by Harvard?
Google gets over two million applications per year and hires 400. Harvard University receives more than 40,000 applications annually and accepts less than 2,000.
The world sets the bar high. To get in the prestigious schools or businesses, or on the top sports teams, you have to prove that you’ve got what it takes—that you’re worth the risk.
Jesus has a different standard. His invitation is open to all—and he champions those who are hurt and discouraged: “Come to me, you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
No grade point threshold to meet, no résumé to polish, no boxes to check. Just respond to Jesus’ invitation to come to him, and you’re in the door.
The day you surrender to Jesus
is the most important day of your life.
