O Lord my God, I will
give you thanks forever.
—Psalm 30:12
Today let’s think deliverance. Deliverance from frightening times that had good endings.
Your biopsy revealed malignancy. But they caught it in time.
Your child was in a serious accident. But she survived.
Your spouse was wheeled into the operating room with a less-than-hopeful outcome. But the surgery was successful.
Your house was destroyed. But no lives were lost.
Today let’s think deliverance. Deliverance from things that could have happened, but didn’t.
You could have had a life-threatening disease. But didn’t.
You could have lost a child. But didn’t.
You could have heard the doctor say, “I’m sorry, but we’ve done all we can do.” But didn’t.
You could have lost everything. But didn’t.
Today thank God for deliverance. Deliverance from frightening times that had good endings. Deliverance from things that could have happened, but didn’t
God chooses the
“how” and “when” of deliverance.
