You are a letter from Christ.
—2 Corinthians 3:3
You’ve probably been required to submit letters of recommendation when applying for employment. When you ask someone to write such a letter, you’re asking for their endorsement.
The apostle Paul wrote letters of endorsement. And his converts, by their lives, wrote letters of endorsement for his ministry.
Eugene Peterson had Paul saying it this way: “You yourselves are all the endorsement we need. Your very lives are a letter that anyone can read by just looking at you” (2 Cor 3:1–2).
A life well-lived is a powerful letter.
A builder is judged by what he builds, a painter by what she paints, a writer by what he writes.
And each of us by how we live.
You may never know “who” or “where”—
but your life is influencing some “who” some “where.”
