We have different gifts,
according to the grace given us.
—Romans 12:6
“You can be anything you want to be.”
“You can do anything you want to do.”
Neither of these frequently-quoted statements is true. Some things are beyond the reach of our knowledge and skills.
But here’s something to get excited about: you can be anything God wants you to be and do anything God wants you to do because he has given you the abilities that match the assignments he wants you to take on.
Thumb over to Romans 12 and read verses 6–8. You’ll probably find your gift somewhere in that list—the who God wants you to be and the what God wants you to do.
Talent sets limits, but you decide
what you do within those limits.
