The Lord needs it.
—Luke 19:31
En route to Jerusalem for the last time, Jesus ordered two of his disciples, “Go to the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there . . . Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ tell him, ‘The Lord needs it’” (Lk 19:30–31).
Does the Lord really need anything?
He did that day. Prophecy proclaimed, “Your king comes to you . . . gentle and riding on a donkey” (Zec 9:9). Jesus didn’t own a donkey. He needed to borrow one.
