New every morning.
—Lamentations 3:23
After a monumental mess-up, Sarah said, “Isn’t it nice to think that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet?”
We make our share of mistakes—some of us more than our share. But forgiveness gives us a fresh start. God turns the page and says, “I will remember [your] sins no more” (Heb 8:12).
There is no other relationship like it: not in school, work, or marriage—a new, unsmudged page this morning; and another one tomorrow.
We make some bad choices along the way, but they don’t destroy us. “If we confess our sins . . . he is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong” (1 Jn 1:9).
“The Lord’s love never ends; his mercies never stop. They are new every morning” (Lam 3:22–23).
Tomorrow is a new day
with no mistakes in it yet.
