He who believes in me
has everlasting life.
—John 6:47
Peter Thiel racked up a fortune when he sold PayPal to eBay. He and other tech titans—founders of Google, Facebook, eBay, Napster, and Netscape—are investing billions to fast-track biomedical research. They’re backing scientists like Cynthia Kenyon, a molecular biologist who attracted attention by doubling the life span of a worm by a single-gene mutation.
By rebuilding and reprogramming organs, limbs, cells, and DNA, Thiel and pals intend to equip people to live longer—and maybe defeat death altogether.
They’re late to the party—death has already been defeated . . .
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life” (Jn 6:47).
“The free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom 6:23).
“This is the promise that he made to us—eternal life” (1 Jn 2:25).
Science may extend life,
but only God can make it everlasting.
