The earth is full of your riches.
—Psalm 104:24
From the kitchen table in my parents’ Fort Worth home, a large window artistically framed a beautiful backyard oak tree. My mother loved that tree. She was in her 90s when we were having coffee and watching the sun do its magic on the oak. Mother said, “I hope when your father and I are gone, whoever lives here will enjoy that tree as much as I have.”
Author C.S. Lewis once asked a hiking companion how to cultivate a thankful heart. Kneeling beside a stream, his friend splashed water on his face, and said, “Why not begin with this?” Lewis said that at that moment he learned a great lesson—“Begin where you are.”
Be aware of God’s beauty where you are. You can do that, can’t you?
