[T]he Lord has assigned to each his task.
—1 Corinthians 3:5
According to a 2012 Reader’s Digest article, contacts in a national survey were asked to finish this sentence: “For one day, I would like to trade places with . . .” Here are some of the responses:
“My autistic child, just to see the world through his eyes.”
“My heart donor—I would love to know what he or she was like.”
“My husband, to see just how it is to live with me.”
One respondent’s comment brought a different perspective to the table. She said: “No one—I am happy to just be myself.”
I hope you can respond like the last lady, for God made you who he wanted you to be. You are unique. An original. One-of-a-kind.
There’s nothing wrong with who you are.
God made you, and he didn’t make a mistake.
