Death has been swallowed up in victory.
—1 Corinthians 15:54
A car crash on I-45 between The Woodlands and Conroe, Texas, left a victim with such severe injuries his chance of survival was slim. Thankfully, skillful surgeons saved his life.
The downside is that he has brain damage and will be, they fear, confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life.
Partial victory . . . but the doctors, the victim, and the victim’s family hoped for more.
Partial victory is better than no victory. But when it comes to the final battle with death, there is no such thing as partial victory. Death has to be defeated totally or not at all.
Jesus’ victory over death is total: “Death has been swallowed up in victory” (1 Cor 15:54).
All your problems will be
erased by the resurrection.
