[T]ake the child and his mother
and escape to Egypt.
—Matthew 2:13
While Joseph and Mary were on the road from Nazareth to Bethlehem, the wise men were on the road from Babylon to Bethlehem. There they met, and the newborn Christ child was worshiped.
Conniving King Herod, with murder on his mind, asked for the help of the wise men in locating the child. But warned not to do business with the king, they hit the road again.
They weren’t the only ones. An angel appeared to Joseph, saying, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt.” So under cover of darkness, they were on the road again.
Satan is on the prowl, looking for vulnerable mortals to dupe and devour (1 Pt 5:8). He tricks, tempts and traps. Don’t fall for it. Hit the road in the opposite direction.
Put distance between you and the devil.
