“[God] has made everything beautiful in its time,” wrote Solomon. Then added: “He has also set eternity in the hearts of men.”
Eternity is in our DNA. We want life to last forever. When the hair grows grey and thin, the hands arthritic and shaky, the vision hazy, the hearing fuzzy, the gait wobbly, there remains a death-defying desire to keep going—a longing for continuance.
And that is God’s plan and promise. You are God’s child now and forever. Your “time” will not last forever—but you will. In God’s narrative, your trek here is only the beginning—the first letter of the first word of the first sentence of the first chapter of your eternal story.
At the end of the day
there is no end of the day.
