The wind died down and it was completely calm.
—Mark 4:39
“Don’t you care if we drown?” Jesus’ disciples howled.
“He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, ‘Quiet! Be still!’ Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.”
He rebuked the wind and waves. He also rebuked the disciples: “Where is your faith?”
You may feel a disconnect with this story, because he stopped their storm, but he hasn’t stopped yours. He still may. Then again, he may not.
You’re groping in the dark for the handle of faith; you don’t see him, don’t hear him. “You believe because you have seen me,” Jesus said to one of his disciples; “Blessed are those who haven’t seen me and believe anyway” (Jn 20:29 NLT).
Dive deep and believe, even when there seems to be no reason to.

strong is the only choice you have.
