I thank you that you have heard me.
—John 11:41
“Pray and ask God for everything you need, always giving thanks” (Phil 4:6 NCV).
At the tomb of Lazarus Jesus said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me.” He prayed, and thanked God for the answer even before the answer was seen.
In Caesarea, Cornelius was told, “God has heard your prayer” (Acts 10:31). At that very moment, over in Joppa, God was prepping Simon Peter to be the answer to his prayer.
Lay your concern before God; pray boldly; pour out your heart. And thank him for the answer he has put in motion, even before you see the answer.
Pray. And thank God for the answer that is on the way.
He has the right answer—
and knows the right time to deliver it.
