It is not the healthy who
need a doctor, but the sick.
—Mark 2:17
The Pharisees were appalled that Jesus was hanging out with sinners.
Jesus countered, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do. I have come to call sinners, not those who think they are already good enough” (NLT).
In a utopian world without sickness, there would be no need for a doctor. But in a world with a raging epidemic of deadly sin-spawned disease, there is need for an extraordinary physician . . . a GREAT physician.
For those who feel the need for such a healer you will be pleased to know that he always hits the diagnosis on the nose; always provides a perfect and complete cure; always is on call. He also makes house calls. And catch this, he even pays the bill.
Jesus was the first heart surgeon . . .
and is still in practice.
