Jesus Christ is the same
yesterday and today and forever.
—Hebrews 13:8
Generations come and go: “Moses my servant is dead” (Jo 1:2); “When David had served God’s purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep” (Acts 13:36).
Those we know and love have their day, fill their place, serve their generation. Then their day ends and another generation takes their place.
But Jesus’ presence is permanent. He was with the generations of your ancestors, is with your generation, and will be with the generations of your offspring . . . yesterday, today, and forever.
You can let your weight down on his unending presence and unchanging nature. Your relationship with him is one of certainty . . .
His promise to you is, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you” (Heb 13:5).
So you can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid” (Heb 13:6).
Greet today with an awareness of His presence.
