So many people were coming and going
that they did not even have a chance to eat.
—Mark 6:31
Schedules are frequently interrupted by people who want a slice of your time. “The person who has an hour to waste,” someone said, “often spends it with someone who doesn’t.”
Interruptions can be irritating; intrusions resented.
But maybe we have too many irons in the fire, keeping us from giving time and attention to those we should—a spouse, a child, an aging parent, an acquaintance, or even a stranger.
An Ethiopian’s journey was interrupted by a preacher who shared the Good News with him and baptized him; a providential interruption that sent him on his way saved and rejoicing (Acts 8:26-39).
Interruptions. Burden or blessing? You never know.
You, like everyone else, have twenty-four
hours a day—no more, no less.
