God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
—Psalm 46:1
Some seek refuge in money—a benefit, but not a sure shelter.
Some in medicine—a blessing, but not a never-failing remedy.
Some in education—an asset, but not a cure-all.
Some in non-stop activity—a diversion, but not a permanent fix.
There is only one safe port in a storm …
The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge … He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior (2 Sam. 22:2, 3).
You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in his distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat (Isa. 25:4).
The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him (Nah. 1:7).
When God is your refuge
your security is certain.
