May all who seek you rejoice and be glad.
—Psalm 70:4
Your life has been enriched by family and friends. What good times you’ve had together.
Some of those—a parent, spouse, child, best friend—are no longer here to enjoy this day with you.
But here you are. God has let you live; has given you this day. Live it to the full. Brushing off the gift is an insult to the Giver.
It is good to praise the Lord … to proclaim your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night … For you make me glad by your deeds, O Lord; I sing for joy at the works of your hands (Ps. 92:1-2, 4).
Resolve that this will be a good day—every hour meaningful; every minute enjoyable.
Have a nice day.
Refusal to enjoy today
is no tribute to the past.
