The Father … has qualified you
to share in the inheritance …
—Colossians 1:12
Your Last Will and Testament declares how you have decided to divvy up your possessions.
Jesus’ Will did the same. The night before he died, he told his disciples, “In my Father’s house are many rooms … I am going there to prepare a place for you” (Jn. 14:2).
That legacy was not just for the men in that room; it was for all disciples. You are in for a share of his Will; your name is on the list of beneficiaries.
Earthly Wills only dish out temporary things—stuff that will wear out, run out, or be cleaned out.
Not so with Jesus’ Will. It’s a never-to-be-lost bounty: “an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you” (1 Pet. 1:4).
You have a reserved seat at the table
for the reading of the Will.
