“These will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life” (Mt 25:46).
There are quite a few things that wouldn’t be worth bothering about if you were going to live only seventy or eighty years.
But if you’re going to live forever, how you spend those seventy or eighty years is serious business.
The Bible verses at the beginning of this essay are either true or they’re not. You have the freedom to believe or disbelieve them. However, if they are true, refusing to believe them won’t change the verdict.
Eternal is a very, very long time.
