By prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
present your requests to God.
—Philippians 4:6
A blind beggar shouted, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
“What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked.
“Lord, I want to see.”
“Receive your sight,” said Jesus.
Would the beggar properly use the gift? Every time God provides help, there’s a possibility that the blessing will be misused.
Even so, he doesn’t insist on a signed contract before extending blessings. He doesn’t demand that we pledge to be faithful stewards of increased financial blessings. He doesn’t shut off our oxygen supply when we misuse his favors. He doesn’t take back the gifts he’s granted when we fail to say, “Thank you.”
But now would be a good time to do that.
Some have more resources than you;
let none have more gratitude than you.
