Tetelestai

It is finished.
—John 19:30

Buy now, pay later.

Most of us have been a victim of that lure. And we learned that “later” came sooner than expected.

Someone picked up the tab for your biggest debt.

The Greek word is tetelestai. That’s the word Jesus spoke from the Cross when he bowed his head and gave up his spirit: Tetelestai—“It is finished.”

Sin’s account was settled. The debt was paid in full. The final payment has been made for you. All you need to do is gratefully accept it.

You are not saved by your attainment but by Christ’s atonement.

Tetelestai. It is finished.
