Be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord.
—Psalm 27:14
She was in her 90s and gave me advice on how to deal with problems by telling me how she dealt with hers.
“Wait three days,” she said, “and somehow everything gets all right.”
I doubt if that’s always true. But I can’t argue with her logic.
“When Jesus was crucified on Friday,” she said, “it was the worst day in history. When I get troubles, I remember that. And then I think about what happened three days later. So when I get troubles, I’ve learned to wait three days, and somehow everything gets all right.”
Sometimes today’s problems seem overwhelming and unsolvable. Give it some time, and things may look better. “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord” (Ps 27:14).
Hang on long enough to let God do his thing.
